NEW LAND RECORDS SYSTEM
Jefferson County Probate Court is pleased to announce that we will “Go-Live” with the Pioneer Technology Group LANDMARK Land Records system on Monday, October 26, 2015. Pioneer Technology Group, with corporate headquarters in Sanford, Florida, is one of the leading land records and court technology companies in the United States.
Probate Court will close on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Noon to transition to the new systems, and we will reopen on Monday morning, October 26, 2015 at 8:00 AM.
Our ROAM internet web system will be taken down at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 23, 2015, and will be replaced by LANDMARK WEB on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 12:00 Midnight.
Semi-Annual Meeting of the Citizens Supervisory Commission
The semi-annual meeting of the CITIZENS SUPERVISORY COMMISSION as required by the Jefferson County Civil Service Law, is hereby called for Tuesday, November, 17, 2015 at 12:00 noon, in the courtroom of Judge Alan King, Probate Court, First Floor, Jefferson County Courthouse, 716 Richard Arrington Boulevard North, Birmingham, Alabama 35203.

Small Estates Amount Has Been Increased
Effective March 1, 2015, through February 28, 2016, the value for Small Estates has been increased from $27,583 to $28,024, by the State of Alabama Department of Finance, based on the Consumer Price Index.
Jefferson County Probate Court Announces E-Recording
E-Recording in Jefferson County, Alabama officially began November 3, 2014, as the Probate Court in the Bessemer Division recorded its first electronic document, a deed submitted through Simplifile, one of several vendors the Probate Court will partner with over the next few months.
Judge Alan King, Presiding Probate Judge, said, “We are excited to offer E-Recording in Jefferson County, which includes both the Birmingham and Bessemer Courthouses. This is another technological step forward for the attorneys and citizens throughout Jefferson County, the State of Alabama and the United States to record land and public records in a convenient and cost effective manner. Customers may now e-record certain documents without ever leaving the office.”
