Welcome to the Jefferson County Probate Court’s website.

This site has been developed to assist the citizens of Jefferson County and other interested parties with matters that come within the Court’s areas of responsibility.

We hope you will find the site informative and useful as our Probate Court touches the lives of our citizens in many ways.  Some have described our court as “The Helping Court,” due to fact that our judges and staff deal with important life and death issues that touch every resident.

Each of us in Probate Court takes our responsibilities seriously and we strive to always be helpful and courteous. With regard to judicial matters, the mission of the Probate Court is to provide an impartial and accessible forum for the just, timely and economic resolution of judicial proceedings within the Court’s jurisdiction, so as to protect individual rights and liberties and promote public trust and confidence.  In all instances, the Probate Court is committed to following applicable law.
